RANCHO CUCAMONGA (July 20, 2014) – A wrong way crash has left three people dead including the driver in the early hours of Sunday.
The crash reportedly occurred around 2:22 a.m. on the 210 Freeway (Foothill Freeway) near Deer Creek Boulevard. The wrong way driver was westbound on the eastbound side of the freeway when the collision happened. The car collided head-on with a silver Hyundai which had four people in it, two of the backseat passengers were killed immediately from the impact. They were identified as 38 year old Fontana resident, Falguni Shah and 52 year old resident from London England, Veena Shah. Their relation to one another is not yet known. The driver and front seat passenger were rushed to Loma Linda Hospital and Arrowhead Regional hospitals.
The wrong way driver was also killed, he was driving a blue Hyundai. He was identified as 28 year old La Habra resident, Mack Jaramillo.
The freeway was closed for several hours while California Highway Patrol investigators cleared the wreckage and collected evidence. They will determine if alcohol played a role in this tragic accident. If the driver is found to have been driving under the influence, he can be held liable for the wrongful deaths of Flguni Shah and Veena Shah.
