William Rowland Jr. Killed by Car While Crossing Huntington Beach street

HUNTINGTON BEACH (September 5, 2014) – William Rowland Jr. was fatally struck by a car Friday evening while attempting to cross a street in Huntington Beach.

The accident took place at around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Yorktown Avenue and Education Way.  According to some sources, he may have been riding a bicycle at the time of the accident.  Rowland Jr. was rushed to UCI Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.  The Huntington Beach resident was 62 years old.

The driver of the Nissan Sentra which struck Rowland Jr. has been identified as a 64 year old male.  He was questioned by local police.  The driver was westbound on Yorktown when he struck Rowland Jr.
