Westminster Car Accident Claims Life of Motorcyclist Mark Botros

WESTMINSTER (April 11, 2014) – Mark Botros was killed on Friday afternoon after the motorcycle he was riding on collided with another vehicle.

Springdale Street at Camphor Avenue intersection

The Westminster area crash took place at 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Springdale Street and Camphor Avenue.  Botros and another motorcyclist were southbound on Springdale when a car turned left in front of them.  The car struck both motorcyclists but Botros suffered fatal injuries.  Mark Botros was a 21 year old resident of Westminster.

The driver remained at the scene but was not cited.  An investigation is ongoing and witnesses should contact the Westminster Police Department at (714)898-3315 immediately.   The intersection where the accident took place is located in mostly residential area.  With stop signs on Camphor Avenue but not on Springdale, it would indicate that those traveling on Springdale would have the right of way and anyone entering from Camphor should do so with caution.  If the driver of the vehicle that struck Mark Botros is indeed found to be at fault, the driver can be held liable for his wrongful death.  Wrongful death damages in California include economic and non-economic damages.

Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Mark Botros in his untimely and tragic death.
