ONTARIO (November 8, 2013) – A two car crash claimed the life of Fontana teenager, Alec Garcia. The accident happened on Friday at 6:49 p.m. Garcia was headed westbound on E. Ontario Mills Parkway when a car struck his car at the Barrington Avenue intersection. The other car was headed northbound on Barrington at the time. Garcia died immediately from the blunt force trauma. He was only 18 years old.
Ontario Police are investigating the cause of this fatal collision. An investigation should reveal who was at fault. The intersection is controlled by a two way stop on Barrington Avenue, giving drivers on Ontario Mills Parkway the right of way. If the driver that struck Garcia is found to be liable, Garcia’s family will have the right to sue the other driver and his/her insurance for the wrongful death of their son, Alec Garcia. The identity of the other driver has not been revealed, however witnesses should contact the Ontario Police Department at (541) 889-7266.
In wrongful death cases, the police report can take several weeks to complete. Investigators from the Ontario Police Department will interview witnesses, take measurements and consult accident reconstruction experts to determine what happened.
