PALMDALE (August 8, 2013) – Sergio Gutierrez, 32, was killed on Wednesday in a car accident in Palmdale near Lancaster. His one-year old female passenger, was injured in a three-car collision on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred at 11:04 a.m. at Avenue T, east of 80th Street East, when Sergio Gutierrez driving a 1998 Toyota Corolla, rear-ended a stopped Toyota Camry. The forces of the collision caused Sergio Gutierrez and his car into the path of a commercial truck heading east bound.
The driver of the commercial truck, 52-year-old Rosamond resident Cedric Walker suffered serious injuries and was transported by paramedics to the hospital.
Gutierrez was pronounced deceased at the collision scene at 11:14 a.m. His passenger suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles.

Police are still investigating the cause of the collision. It is not known of alcohol, drugs or texting played a role in the collision.
