San Bernardino – Friday evening, at about 8pm, a traffic collision occurred on Summit Valley Road, near Telephone Canyon Road in San Bernardino in the Hesperia area. There was one fatality.
Sheriffs arrived to find a collision had occurred between a Ford F250 pick up and a Toyota Tacoma. Their investigation yielded the following: A Toyota Tacoma traveling north on Summit Valley Road struck Thomas Milton Turner, who was standing outside his Ford F250, also a pick up truck. Thereafter, both vehicles fell down an embankment, over the side of the road. Paramedics pronounced Turner dead at the scene. The collision is still being investigated by the police.
This is a tragic accident and our prayers are with the Turner family. This type of accident could be avoided if drivers take more care when driving. Do not drive if you are tired, or if you have consumed alcohol. If you absolutely must pull over on the side of the road, make sure to give lots of clearance to passing cars, and pull off to a side road that is not busy whenever possible.
Rialto – Vanessa Fisher was killed on Wednesday riding in the passenger seat of an acquaintance’s car.
On Wednesday around 7:25 a.m., the unidentified male driver of the car Fisher was a passenger in lost control of the four door Honda he was driving. The Honda was traveling soutbound on Riverside Drive in a largely residential neighborhood between Pecan Avenue and West Willow Avenue. The car veered off the road and hit a utility pole which was nearby. It is unknown why the driver lost control, police are conducting an investigation as to the cause.
ORANGE COUNTY – Angel Fernandez is dead after a fatal accident in Orange County at the intersection of Jamboree and Chapman. Angel was 19 years old. at about 11:30 p.m. on May 3, 2012, Fernandez was traveling west on Chapman in a Toyota Corolla when his vehicle was struck by agray Honda Civic was traveling north on Jamboree.
It is not clear whether one of the drivers ran a red light or whether alcohol played a part in the collision.
Police and the Orange County Coroner pronounced Fernandez deceased at the scene. The driver of the gray Honda Civic was transported to a local hospital with injuries.
Fountain Valley resident, Martin Moreno was killed in a car accident on Tuesday in Westminster in Orange County.
Valley View St & Bolsa Chica Rd
The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. on the overpass where Bolsa Chica merges into Valley View street. Moreno was driving his Toyota truck when he was hit, head-on by a Honda.
According to Garden Grove police, the Honda crossed to the opposite side when struck Moreno’s truck. Moreno was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the Honda was taken to a nearby hospital.
Witnesses said the Honda van was driving recklessly just minutes before the crash. The driver of the Honda’s identity has not been released. Alcohol may have played a factor.
Santa Ana – Maria Valenzuela was pronounced dead on Friday three days after she was involved in a car accident.
The accident happened Tuesday evening around 9:15 p.m. on the southbound I-5 freeway at La Palma Avenue. The 42 year old Anaheim resident was sitting in her car on the side of the freeway while her husband was changing the tire when it was struck by another vehicle.
