CERRITOS (October 19, 2013) – Another pedestrian versus automobile accident occurred in Orange County this week. Saturday, Just before 10 pm, Philipose Geevarghese, a 79-year-old resident of Cerritos, was hit by a car as he was walking on Carmenita Road. He was walking along the side of the road just north of north of 166th Street in Cerritos. Philipose Geevarghese was well-known in the Indian community of Cerritos and his death is tragic. Paramedics transported Philipose Geevarghese to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he died about two hours later. His cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma, as a result of the collision.
As a result of the collision, the family of Philipose Geevarghese has a right to bring a wrongful death claim against the driver of the car and his/her insurance company.
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident. It is not clear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
