Pedestrian Jeremias Bergus Ignacio Struck and Killed by Car in Glassell Park

LOS ANGELES (December 1, 2013) – Pedestrian Jeremias Bergus Ignacio was killed on Sunday after being struck fatally by a passing car in the Glassell Park are of Los Angeles.  Ignacio was crossing Eagle Rock Boulevard at Avenue 41 when he was struck around 6:00 p.m. by a northbound vehicle.  He was rushed to a local hospital with major injuries but died after arriving.  Jeremias Bergus Ignacio, a resident of Los Angeles, was 73 years old.

According to reports, Ignacio was in a marked crosswalk when he was struck.  Pedestrians in marked crosswalks and in the process of crossing have the right of way.  Ignacio’s family may be able to pursue a lawsuit against the driver and his insurance for the wrongful death of Jeremias Bergus Ignacio.

The driver remained at the scene but was not arrested.  According to police, alcohol or drugs were not involved, the driver failed to see Ignacio.  Witnesses should contact the Los Angeles Police Department’s Northeast Division at (213) 485-2563.

    We lost my Tatay (grandpa) due to this terrible accident, although he may be resting w/o any suffering, this shouldn't be overlooked and justice should be served. if anybody has any info or knows someone who is a potential witness please contact the number on this website.
