VICTORVILLE (August 16, 2014) – Motorcyclist Roger Wayne Woods died on Saturday morning after being struck by a car while riding his motorcycle.
Woods was northbound on Valley Center Drive at 8:50 a.m. when a 2007 Saturn made a left turn in front of him. A witness named Melissa Mike-Capone rushed to Woods’ aid and kept him company before paramedics arrived. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was later declared dead from his injuries. Roger Wayne Woods, a resident of Apple Valley, was 62 years old.
The driver of the Saturn remained at the scene although she was not arrested. Further investigation into this collision will determine what exactly happened and who is at fault. If the Saturn driver is found to be at fault, she can be charged with felony manslaughter and the family of Woods will be able to file a wrongful death claim against her.
