Santa Ana, California – Karla Munoz died Sunday night after being involved in a collision while riding her motorcycle on the freeway.
The motorcycle accident occurred when Munoz was on the southbound Costa Mesa Freeway (55 freeway) when she ejected off her 1978 Honda motorcycle north of MacArthur Boulevard close to Dyer Road. She was behind a van when both switched lanes at the same time. Unfortunately, when she switched lanes she lost control and was thrown from her motorcycle shortly before midnight. She was killed immediately from the impact.
Munoz, a Santa Ana resident, was only 27 years old. She recently graduated Cal State Fullerton with a degree in criminal justice. According to her brother, Hugo Munoz, she dreamed to work with troubled teen girls. Sadly, her life ended too early.
