SOUTH LOS ANGELES (April 19, 2014) – Motorcyclist Lisa McAllister was killed on Saturday after her motorcycles collided with a car.
The accident happened in the Gramercy Park section of South LA at 12:50 a.m. on Western Avenue. A 51 year old driver by the name of Michael Jackson lost control of his Mitsubishi Galant, swerving into McAllister and the group of cyclists she was with at the time. McAllister was rushed to a local hospital but died from her injuries later. The 43 year old from Long Beach was an avid motorcyclist.
The driver was suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol. Though it is not known yet if he was arrested at the scene, he will certainly face arrest and felony manslaughter charges. The family of Lisa McAllister will have the right to file a wrongful death claim against the driver who took the life of their loved one.
