NORTHRIDGE (July 7, 2013) – A three car collision in Northridge left driver Pablo Castaneda and pedestrian Jasmine Dubon dead from injuries suffered during the accident on Wednesday evening. The accident happened at 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Tampa Avenue and Roscoe Boulevard.
Pablo Castaneda, 24 years old, was driving a 2007 blue Toyota Tacoma truck at the time of the collision. According to police officers, the Tacoma was speeding along the street, possibly racing a Nissan Maxima, when the Tacoma lost control. The Tacoma struck a white van which overturned. The driver of the van, an 81 year old man, was rushed to a local hospital. Pablo Castaneda was pryed out of his car by emergency personnel but did not survive the crash. Jasmine Dubon was on the street when one of the cars struck her leaving her with fatal injuries. She was only nineteen years old. Two other pedestrians and the driver of the Maxima were injured as well.
