DESERT HOT SPRINGS (November 26, 2013) – A single vehicle crash left two teen passengers dead and two other injured on Tuesday. The crash happened around 4:00 p.m. on Dillon Road north of Brack Road. The driver, only identified as a sixteen year old male, admitted to speeding when the stolen Hyundai he was driving crashed. Four passengers in the car were injured, two of them died. Lusi Torres of Indio, seventeen years old, died immediately at the scene. Eighteen year old La Quinta resident Andres Romo died later at Desert Regional Medical Center. The other two passengers who were injured, a seventeen year old female and another male, were rushed to a local hospital with major industries.
The teen driver will face charges of vehicular manslaughter as well as possible theft of a car, excessive speed and other charges.
