PALM SPRINGS (February 16, 2014) – Sunday evening, pedestrian Michael Rall was struck fatally by two cars. The incident occurred at 9:22 p.m. on the southbound side of Gene Autry Trail, just north of Via Escuela. Two vehicles struck Rall who was walking along Gene Autry Trail for unknown reasons. One of the drivers fled the scene while the other remained on the scene to assist.
Rall was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries. The Palm Springs resident was 55 years old.
Police are looking for the driver of the second vehicle which struck Rall. They describe it has a gray Dodge Durango. Witnesses or anyone with information leading to the driver of the Durango should contact the Palm Springs Police Department. An investigation is underway regarding the circumstances behind this tragic accident.
Leaving the scene of an accident is considered a hit and run. By law, a driver must stay at the sight of an accident and render aid if needed.
