Car Crashes into Tree Killing Two in Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH (December 16, 2013) – Two people were fatally injured after their car crashed into a tree in Huntington Beach early Monday morning.  The accident happened at 5:20 a.m. at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Main Street.  The driver who was westbound on Ellis Avenue apparently lost control during a turn and crashed into a palm tree.  Investigators believe speed was a factor in the early morning crash.

The driver and passenger were fatally injured.  The names of the victims have yet to be released.

UPDATE: The names of the victims were released this morning.  The driver has been identified as 19  year old Robert Ruiz of Irvine.  The passenger has been identified as 17 year old female Kiany Garcia.

The family of Kiany Garcia, now have a claim against Mr. Ruiz’s estate and his insurance for the wrongful death of Kiany.
