Bicyclist Manuel Morales Rodriguez Involved in Fatal Anaheim Hit and Run

ANAHEIM (October 30, 2013) – Early Wednesday morning, bicyclist Manuel Morales Rodriguez was involved in a collision versus a car that took his life.  The accident happened at 5:39 a.m. on 125 E. Orangethorpe Avenue, between Lemon Street and Harbor Boulevard near the Fullerton Town Center area.  According to reports, a car struck Rodriguez while he was riding his bicycle then dragged him several feet after which Rodriguez was struck by another oncoming car.  The first driver who struck Rodriguez fled the scene even striking another car in the process.  The second driver who struck Rodriguez called police immediately.

Manuel Morales Rodriguez, a Fullerton resident, was 19 years old.

Witnesses or anyone with information regarding the driver who struck Manuel Morales Rodrgiuez should contact the Anaheim Police Department at 714-765-1900 immediately.  It is against the law to leave the scene of the accident.  The driver was obligated to stop, render aid and call officials.  If found, the driver of that vehicle could face felony manslaughter charges.
