San Bernardino (June 7 2013) – Allen Newton was involved in a car accident Friday afternoon that took his life. Newton was traveling south on Waterman Avenue in a Ford Taurus when his car was struck head-on by a pick-up truck near the Marshall Street intersection at 11:44 a.m. Newton, a Lake Arrowhead resident, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. He was 66 years old and a practicing anesthesiologist with the San Bernardino Anesthesia Medical Group.
The driver of the pick up truck was identified as 33 year old Brian Bohn of San Bernardino. According to witnesses, Bohn’s car was seen weaving and speeding through the streets before it struck the car being driven by Allen Newton. He was headed north on Waterman Avenue when he crossed over to the southbound side, striking Newton’s car head-on. Witnesses also reported that Bohn looked to be having an argument with his female passenger. Bohn’s female passenger and a child in their car were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
